Generazione Vigneti

Masters of Friuli

A centuries-old history

Tracing the history of the winery means rewinding the hands of the clock, to 1924, the year in which Cavaliere Alessandro Bidoli decided to follow his love for wine, founding a winery in the heart of Friuli. A passion handed down to his son Giobatta, first, and to his grandchildren Arrigo and Margherita, then. The historic dynasty has finally reached its fourth generation with the young Elena.

Passion, family and a gaze that, while treasuring the legacy of the past, knows how to look with enthusiasm towards the future. On these values, the path of the historic Friulian winery has crossed with that of the Piccini family, through a path of enhancement capable of disseminating the extraordinary wine panorama of the region in the best possible way.

The wine furnace

Between past and future

Located in Rive d’Arcano, in the province of Udine, the Bidoli winery is housed in a real work of industrial archaeology: one of the oldest furnaces in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, dating back to 1890. A conservative intervention, in the name of bio-building, has made it possible to restore one of the symbols of the past of this land, hosting a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly and new generation plant.

A phyto-purification system for water, a barrier of tall vegetation for the absorption of excess CO2 and an oil removal plant ensure maximum respect for the environment.

The land of wonders

Friuli DOC

It is a tasty itinerary that leads from Rive D’Arcano in a few minutes to San Daniele del Friuli, one of the most renowned towns in the region, known all over the world for the native production of raw ham. The Bidoli winery is located in the heart of the Friuli DOC, between the provinces of Udine and Pordenone, in an area particularly favorable to the cultivation of vines.

Characteristic of the territory, sheltered by the mountains, is the gravelly soil, which with the beneficial effect of the Adriatic Sea contributes to a high quality production of both white and red wines.
